2010 Scholarship Recipients

The Carpinteria Education Foundation  awarded $26,000 in scholarships to 17 seniors.

The six seniors entering four-year colleges and receiving

$2,500 Boughton Scholarships are Susanna Arroyo,

Leticia Ramirez, Miriam Ramirez, Jose Sanchez, Noe

Gomez, and Chloe Kuba. The five recipients of the $1,000

Boughton Scholarships awarded for those attending

two-year schools are Hilda DeLa Torre, Amanda Leonard,

Lara Cisneros, Andria Kester, and Michael Solano.

Luz Nava received the $1,000 Gillean Memorial Scholarship,

a matching scholarship fund established in the memory

of former CUSD trustee Jack Gillean and his wife Margaret, a former teacher.

Additionally, five seniors received $1,000 scholarships funded by CEF. They are Amanda

Burch, Melissa Sanchez, Miryam Moctezuma, Ana Rodriguez, and Maria Vargas.
