This year we will be unveiling The Carpinteria Triple Crown for Education. Three of the best courses in Carpinteria, these races support the Carpinteria Unified School District students. A Unique challenge in Santa Barbara County, sign up for one, or all three races and support our students. To be a part of the series, simply register and finish each of the events in one year. Finishers of all three runs will receive a commemorative medal and honor of completing all three runs for the CUSD students. All three runs are Santa Barbara Athletic Association Grand Prix Races.
1) Carpinteria Winter Warm Up 5K Run/walk in honor of Richard Partida – February 19th, 2017. A trail run on the Carpinteria Bluffs, this event is the perfect training run for both the elite and beginning runner.

We are all ready for the run, and hope that you’re too. Below are details for the run! See you on Sunday!
Why do we do this? The Carpinteria Winter Warm Up is a fundraiser for the Carpinteria Unified School District and Carpinteria Education Foundation.
Location: Carpinteria Bluffs Trails – starting line will be at the Viola Fields in Carpinteria. You can park in the lot next to the fields, or nearby on Carpinteria Ave. If you cannot find Viola Fields on your map app, look for S&S Seeds Co. They are a business located adjacent to the parking lot.
Starting Time: The 5K Run will start at 8am sharp! If you have a friend that would like to join you, same Day Registration is available at 7am near the parking lot mentioned above.
The Fun Stuff: The starting area will have booths providing massages, adjustments, and a personal trainer representatives. Each runner will receive a gifted succulent upon finishing the run. There will be food and water for you after the race. Please make sure to stop by the booth in honor of Richard Partida, an active Carpinteria community member that provided years of volunteer service to the Carpinteria sports community. He was a regular fixture at this event, and we honor his generosity and commitment to community at this race.
Something new: We have added a 1 Mile Run for children ages 3-13, it will take place at 9am, after the 5k runners come in. Runners can register at the event for $10. If you have a younger runner that would like to run, but does not want to run the 5K, this is the perfect run for them. There will be 25 runners from the Santa Barbara Coyotes doing their best to set a PR. Come and give them some competition!
2) The 25th Annual Orchard 2 Ocean (O2O) 5k, 10K and 1 Mile Fun Run – March 18th, 2017. It is an event for both elite and casual runners. With over 200 runners each year, the event provides well-needed funds to the CUSD Parent Groups.
The Orchard 2 Ocean has become a favorite among Santa Barbara County and Ventura County runners, with its delicious after-race food and beautiful course. The coastal view course runs along the Carpinteria State Park Campground, along the Carpinteria Bluffs, returning through the beautiful Concha Loma Community. A fast course, usually providing many PRs for the competitive runner!

3) The Big Avocado 5K Run/Walk – October 8th, 2017 This annual race is always held around Carpinteria Avocado week and is a great opportunity to enjoy a unique cross-country/trail race along the beautiful Carpinteria Bluffs.
