Carp-a- Cabana is set for September 9th , 2017! Join us at the California Tropics Packing House for our 25th annual live and silent auctions benefitting the Carpinteria Unified School District. There will be a delicious dinner, hosted bar, and great silent and live auction items available.
Each year the Carpinteria Education Foundation hosts an annual fundraiser titled the Carp-a-Cabana. The highest grossing Carpinteria Unified School District fundraising event, Carp-a-Cabana generates essential financial support for the Carpinteria and Summerland public schools. All proceeds from the event are donated to CUSD site grants distributed amongst the schools. Allocations are made to principals based on the submission of funding proposals for technology and equipment, site based needs, and critical program enhancements.
Each Spring, the planning begins with volunteer Committee members meeting monthly to create an entertaining and successful event. The location is chosen, Sponsorship is requested from community businesses, the auction items are solicited, and the entertainment is secured. Committee member works to keep costs to a minimum so that that each year the proceeds given to the schools increase. In the past 6 years, $248,539 has been provided to CUSD from Carp-a- Cabana proceeds.
